Over the last day we have seen many of the big YouTube camera testers and Lumix ambassadors gathering for a secret Panasonic Lumix event, either in Huston Texas, for the American influencers or in Lisbon Portugal, for the European counterpart.
Jordan from Petapixel mentioned it in this video, that he is downtown Austin for an event, to not worry about it and to not ask questions, and Julia Trotti, while not being from the Americas, is also seen filming in the USA.
Photolari, Andy Garbo, Paul Porter and other EU creators are in Lisbon, as it seems Panasonic is having 2 events at the same time, probably to save on travel costs.
Lumix competitor to the FX3
The rumors about this new camera are very scarce, all we know is that it will probably be a compact full frame cinema camera, a direct competitor to Sony’s FX3.
This new camera should be announced on the 13th of May, which is 2 weeks from now. Hopefully before then we will get some spec leaks to see how it could compete with the FX3.
First images of the new Lumix cine camera?
A L-rumors commentator pointed out that in Cam Mackey latest video, we can see what might be an out-of-focus glimpse of the new Lumix camera.
In this video about the new Zhiyoun light, there is a camera attached to the right side of the car, filming the driver. The camera is not in focus, probably due to the embargo, and we can only speculate on what we could be the specs.
From the blurred images, it seems that there is a protruding portion on the upper part of the camera – could this mean that it has a viewfinder? This would differentiate it from the FX cinema line, where all the cameras don’t have an EVF.
For now, this is all that we get, the first (blurred) glimpse of what could be the next Lumix new cinema camera. We will probably get more reliable information before the official announcement on the 13th of May.
